1/4 of my 2013 books. (others are from 2012)
As what I’ve said in my previous post, the instant vacation due to the typhoon made me catch up with my 2013’s reading challenge. I’m targeting 35 books this year and I already read 22! Sad ‘coz I sort of have to settle with ebooks because of myself being a peasant. But since the suspension of classes started, I was able to finish 1 book per day and boy was it awesome!
Here’s what I have read during my instant vacay:
- Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler - ★★★☆☆
- Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell - ★★★★
- Attachments by Rainbow Rowell - ★★★★☆
- The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer Smith - ★★★★☆
- Dreamland by Sarah Dessen - ★★★☆☆
- The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman - ★★★★☆
- Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson - ★★★★☆
All books are fascinating especially Eleanor and Park. Ahh, young love it is. It sort of reminds me of my past relationship. Attachments is good to but it was less awesome than E and P. You can also notice how the author love open-ended stories. It always leave me hanging! In Why We Broke Up, it’s kinda disappointing. The illustrations are what made the book interesting but the story’s so-so. Smith’s will made you want to travel and hope that you’ll meet your one true love when doing so. I gave Dreamland 3 out of 5 stars because I got bored with the story. It is my first time to read Neil Gaiman’s and boy I need more of him in my life! I admire the flow of the story that at first it creeps me up. Heh! But I love how it has a deep meaning! And lastly, Patterson’s Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas. All hail James! I fell in love.
And now I’m currently reading: This is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz. (Since this post is on queue, I probably finished this book by now and is up on another read. *wink*)
Ahh! How nice it is to escape and be in the world of fiction. It makes me fall in love with words more and more and more and more.
Edit: Finished reading Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk (right after This is How You Lose Her) and he now have my heart. ♥
